A Philippine Dive Safari

Our dive safari was to be for five days and was to include one of the more renowned coral reef diving area of the Philippines - Apo Island. We boarded our safari boat - a locally built large outrigger - at MoalBoal and set sail for Apo Island, five hours away. Unfortunately we encountered quite strong winds and a choppy sea which proved almost too much for the boat - and its passengers! We arrived at Apo Island and managed to dive for two days in the lee of the island - unfortunately we couldn’t dive the better sites due to the conditions! Another choppy sail to Siquior Island for two days ‘mediocre’ diving followed before we headed for Alona Beach, Bohol and the end of our safari.
