Situated between the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, the Philippines offers a great variety of diving. For this three week trip, the itinerary had been wholly arranged through one dive company based in the Philippines -
MoalBoal lies on the western side of Cebu Island, about 3 hours drive from the airport. One of the main diving areas on Cebu, MoalBoal’s signature dive is Pescador Island which is currently cited for a huge shoal of bait fish which gathers on its Northern edge.
The Dive Safari
Our five day safari was aboard a local outrigger boat. The boat left MoalBoal for a 5 hour sail to Apo Island which is one of the better coral reef diving areas in the Philippines. We then spent two nights on Siquior Island before ending our safari at Alona Beach, Bohol
We completed our diving in the Philippines at Alona Beach, Bohol. The nearby islands of Balicasag and Cabiliao again offer some highly scenic reef diving with the chance of encountering some ‘big’ life. Unfortunately, we were only to dive here for one day!
Bohol in a Day!
We do occassionally try to see the sights which are above water! These photo’s are of a day trip to see the ‘tourist’ sites of Bohol including the Tarsier sanctuary, the Chocolate Hills, the oldest church in Bohol and it also included lunch on a river boat!
This section has a few short videos taken whilst on our dive safari. The videos show the Baitfish ball at Pescador Island, reef diving around Apo Island and a dive at Balicasag Island.
