MacLeod Island is uninhabited except for the Myanmar Andaman Resort. This resort is one of the few, if not the only resort, in the Mergui Archipelago. Although the resort history is sketchy, the resort was probably only 3 or 4 years old in 2011, and is a concessionary resort allowed by the Myanmar government. The resort had 12 individual villas all, more or less, on the beach, and a small central reception/restaurant/bar/kitchen/administration complex. Being on the edge of virgin rainforest, the sounds of the forest at sunset was unforgettable!
